Which class, if any, have you used the most since graduation?

Jodie Beining (Larson)
The most helpful class by far must be CONSULTING!!!! Will we ever forget that debacle? Seriously, I would have to say tax research. There are only two things I do, write really expensive tax planning memos and baby sit staff and seniors. Since we didn't have a baby sitting class I will pick research. I think we should suggest to Larry that we add baby sitting 101 to the curriculum.

I hate to admit it, but I think it's our Consulting class.  Sure I could name any tax class which I used on a daily basis in the office, but Consulting helped make me a more well rounded person.  Today I heard an HR person on the radio talking about doing a Hug-Slap-Hug approach while talking to a co-work with whom you have an issue with.  It's hard to believe how right Ann was.
Julia Hubrich (Ziegler)
Sadly intro to accounting + Intermediate Accounting I.  I do the accounting entries to make raw material into WIP into FG into COGS.  This may sound easy - but all I have to work with is excel - so I'm manually calculating FIFO every audit to determine how much stock was produced in this year at this year's prices as opposed to last year's stock.  It's a pain in the butt, but the basics of accounting have really helped.

Bus law 2 - when Al Talarzcik said you should never propose on a significant date (i.e. birthday, anniversary or holiday) because then it is considered a gift and you can't get the ring back.

Financial Statement Analysis / Corporate Taxation
Sara Lahm
I'd have to say, intro and intermediate accounting.  I'm still end up talking many people through the basic debits/credits, and what the balance sheet really means

Business Strategy w/ Mason Carpenter was my favorite class.  Most used in my job?  Unfortunately, I can't think of any.  I am not sure that I really got as much as I should out of my education in college - went through the motions, but was more focused on running.  Hindsight is 20/20.
Betsy Schmidt (Mommsen)
I think the best, and hardest, class I took was Financial Accounting Theory.  It required the most critical thinking and problem solving of any business course I took, both of which are helpful when dealing with a screaming, irrational child.  Plus, when I read business or political articles I still find myself thinking, “But is that information reliable?  How is it verified?  Is it timely?”  It’s the only course I really wish I could take again, just to sit and learn.  Thank you, Professor Warfield.

Mason Carpenter's Business Strategy class was probably the most inspirational.  Did some ABC when I first started with AA, so I guess I have Ella Mae to thank?  Still waiting for that ElderCare stuff to become useful.
Jodie Scott (Heitzig)
I use Al Talarczek’s Tax Research class nearly every day.  In fact, I still keep my text book in easy reach to use as a reference.  I’m so glad I took that class before I started working in earnest, because it gave me a much better background and understanding of the research process than I would have been able to get on the job or in a seminar.
