The job basics haven't changed. I'm still working as a Tax Manager for Deloitte
in Milwaukee. Well the firm name has changes a bunch of times but that is about it. I think I technically work for Deloitte
Tax, LLP this week. By the time this hits our webpage it may have changed. Thanks Sarbox! I have only one client the rest
of my time is spent on special consulting project work. That is nice as it really allows me to control the hours I work- no
more years with 2400 charge hours! My current schedule is 4 days a week with one of those days working from home- there is
an upside to public accounting.

I am still with PwC- Global Capital Markets, but I have just moved. After spending the last 1.5 years in London, England
I have moved to Paris, France (literally, this past weekend). Two things precipitated the move, 1) the work-life balance we
always complain about cannot be better than France (le vie est belle!), and 2) my girlfriend is in pharmacy school in France,
so obviously I am closer...so that is the big change in my professional life.

I'm still a Business Development volunteer in the Peace Corps (technically, I'm a US Government employee). I've
been here, in Moldova, for a year, and am fully acclimated to the food, language & culture of this weird little corner
of Eastern Europe (and still single, although my marriage status is a topic of regional discussion among the chin-whiskered
grandmothers).
In my primary assignment I'm really using my cost accounting - as I'm guiding a dairy cooperative through a transition
from "whatever" accounting (marked by a lack of record keeping or financial statements, and an entire reliance on the end-of-month
bank statment to see if they were in the black) to good, old-fashioned, data-hampster number crunching. Its been painful (computerizing
daily records for liters and fat -- for over 700 farmers in 10 villages) but rewarding (farmer recognition programs have grown
the coop 20% this year).
I dream, swear, & schmooze in Romanian -- with the occasional Russian word thrown in for emphasis.

As of January 21, 2004, I am officially a seasonal employee and only work tax seasons at Wipfli. I'm still in Eau
Claire, but only checking work email and voicemail once a week is pretty nice. Now I just have to convince them to pay
me during the summer ;)

Still working at Fujisawa GmbH, a fully owned subsidiary of the Japanese pharmaceutical firm. Still here in Munich.
I've been with Fujisawa for almost two years now.
The job, as many accounting jobs go, has gotten boring. The first year great, this year the same as last.
The interesting thing that has happened, however, is that my firm is "merging" (what they call it, but legally, financially,
and for all practical matters we are being acquired) by Yamanouchi - another Japanese pharmaceutical.
Normally this would be the same old same old - I'll be out of a job by next year - but what is fascinating is the German
labor law - it is really hard to fire us! We now have a workers' council that is fighting the impossible fight of having
us keep our jobs (the new European HQ will be in London, and there really is no sense in having two European Headquarters).
The workers' council is basically a throw-back to socialism, but it is like watching a comical tragedy.

Since everything else in our life is changing so quickly, I'm going for a little stability at work. For the time
being, I'm going to continue working at Dominion from Milwaukee and traveling back to Richmond periodically. I will
eventually be looking for a new job in the Milwaukee area, but no strong leads at this point.

Still at Accenture in Milwaukee - it will be 5 years in September of '05. I am up for promotion to manager in September;
assuming I get it, or maybe even if I don’t, I will be searching for other options. I think I need to be doing
something that is tangibly helping people in order to achieve job satisfaction.
I am currently staffed at CUNA Mutual in Madison - remember the building on Mineral Point Rd. with all of the flags?
- and am loving being back in MSN :)

I’m still staying at home with Sophia. I love it and cannot imagine going back to work any time soon.
She is my joy. Life just doesn’t get any better than this (Although Mike Bellin’s new job in Paris is right
up there).
As an aside, I want to thank Becky for putting the newsletter together this year (Ed. note: on behalf of Betsy, I will
retract this comment). I know how much work it takes to put this together. I look forward to the newsletter every
year, and I thoroughly enjoy reading about how everyone is doing. I think of you all often and hope that you are all
happy and healthy.

I’m still doing state and local tax consulting for KPMG Minneapolis. I’m starting to feel a little
long in the tooth, having stayed with the same accounting firm for 5 years. But the investment is paying off, as I was
promoted to manager this year.
I also have become involved in the Minneapolis office’s renewed efforts to recruit at UW Madison. I guess
they left the Chicago and Milwaukee offices to tend to Madison, and amazingly, Minneapolis has not hired any UW graduates
for 3 or 4 years. I had a lot of fun going to the career fair a few weeks ago, and found out about some of the developments
in the 150 credit program. It seems that the program has developed a “tax track,” where students interested
in pursuing tax only have to take 2 accounting electives, and they have a new professor solely dedicated to tax. There
are reportedly 20 (out of 70) students pursuing tax. Just as I started to feel like somewhat of a trailblazer, I realized
the kids that are going into the program graduated from HIGH SCHOOL in 2000. Then I just started feeling old.

I am a Senior Internal Auditor with Telephone & Data Systems, where I have worked for the last 3 ½ years.

In February of this year, Procter & Gamble transferred me to our Dish Soap and Chemicals plant in Kansas City.
It has been a very hectic year for me with the move, learning a new job and getting adjusted to working at a plant.
I never thought I would have a job that would require me to own multiple pairs of steel toed shoes, safety goggles and a hard
hat!
